It was a rainy afternoon and I was in the mood for a yummy late lunch and coffee. Frank & Dean Cafe X Kitchen served comfort food and great coffee.
The place was well lit. I liked the interiors. There was a wall made to look like a huge cork board with tacked notes, photos, and clippings. The decors used were like those used in homes from way back in the 50's. Old phones, toys, books, shelves. The name of this restaurant supposedly came from Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.
What to order? Anything that has their bestselling Southern Fried Chicken! Warning, you have to wait around 20 minutes cooking time, but the chicken is worth the wait.
I first tried the one piece chicken with waffle. The chicken had crunchy, peppery, skin I could not stop eating. The meat was juicy, tender, and tasty. It was perfect. The waffle that came with it was cooked the way I liked it, crunchy. I asked for extra syrup and gravy.
Next, I tried their one piece chicken with mac n' cheese. The chicken, was still amazing the second time around. And the mac n' cheese was heavenly. It's made of bechamel, cheddar, parmesan and bread crumbs.
I had coffee after the main meals. The basic brew.
I recommend you go here because I really enjoyed the chicken, waffle, mac n' cheese, and coffee. You just might enjoy them too. Oh and here's two more reasons you should visit this restaurant, it's got free wifi and you can charge your gadgets here while you work, have coffee dates, or meetings.
